Ferocity

Brief Summary of Work:
This artwork depicts the primary ruler of our jungle here in Cincinnati. The ferocious white bengal is shown within the foliage of the jungle. And to be on top in “the jungle” you’ve got to have a lot of blood, sweat, and tears to fight your way to the top. The artwork is a combination of all the factors that play into how our Cincinnati Bengals “Rule the Jungle”.

Quote about inspiration:
My inspiration for this work stemmed from the motto “Rule the Jungle” from 2021. To “Rule the Jungle” you have to work hard and fight your way to the top. The Bengals display strength and confidence through the blood, sweat, and tears on the field and I am optimistic that they will once again display these characteristics this season.

I am so grateful to be able to create something for this partnership between Canvus and The Bengals. I feel like both organizations are building something meaningful here in Cincinnati, and it’s such an honor to be a part of that.

Mandala

Brief Summary of Work:
Mandalas are an ancient art form, a two-dimensional image symbolizing the cosmos. These images are created and used to encourage balanced focus that helps personal energy generate a positive life circle for the viewer.

Quote about inspiration:
The meditative process of creating a mandala like image is centering for the artist and hopefully centering for the viewer of the artwork. I created this artwork to help center and focus the team and fans to common goals of teamwork, unity and success working together on and off the field.

Avalanche is a depiction of a fierce and powerful white Tiger. It is created in a direct and painterly manner to reflect the energy of this big jungle cat.

Quote about inspiration:
A Tiger is a formidable foe, and a white Tiger is extremely rare, my piece captures this spirit. I got all the inspiration I needed by observing this magnificent creature at our world class Cincinnati Zoo.

I have been a Bengals fan since I was a kid and getting a chance to work on this project was a childhood dream come true. It was a pleasure working with Canvus and the Bengals and I appreciate the opportunity.

Raspberry Lemonade

Title:
Byakko (Translation: White Tiger)

Brief Summary of Work:
Byakko is one of the shijin (Japanese), or Four Symbols, which are important mythological and celestial creatures that make up one of the four cardinal directions. Byakko is known as the white tiger of the west that controls the wind with its mighty roar. It also has the character 王 (meaning king) on its forehead, which represents its identity as the king of the beasts. I love Japanese folklore and I figured this would be a great opportunity to bring Byakko alive through the Bengals white tiger uniform. I believe it is also the year of the tiger.

I am very fortunate and grateful to have worked with Canvus and the Bengals as this project was very challenging, fun and a new experience for me. I love that Canvus wants to promote artists and their work through labelling design. It is a fun way to enjoy your drink and the game while also collecting some pretty cool artwork.
